Spring card class 4 - For The Birds

This is the fourth card from the spring card class. The colour combo of this card is Old Olive and Melon Mambo.

You can see the Naturals Whites card stock in this image, it has a flecked appearance. I like how this gives an alternate option to just using Whisper White all the time.

The image from the For The Birds stamp set was coloured in using the blender pen with the ink pads. Kylie showed us three different techniques to colour in the images, one with just the markers, one with the blender pen and inks and one using the paintbrush and inks.

In this picture you can see the button and the Scallop Dots ribbon.

I do like cards that involve a bit of colouring in! I hope I can borrow this set sometime and have a play with it and make some cards for my stash!

Shoe Box Swap - Kindness Matters

This is a post with a product from
the new Annual Catalogue. Excited? I am! This was one of the cards that we made at the Shoe Box swap class that I have mentioned before. This card was designed by Jane Bisby.

The colour combo for this card is Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose, Crumb Cake with Very Vanilla. The stamp set is from the new Annual Catalogue and is called Kindness Matters. The butterflies were stamped three times and coloured with the marker pens. The middle butterfly on the bottom row has another one stamped and cut out and placed on top to add a bit of dimension. The Crumb Cake card stock was embossed using the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The Regal Rose card stock was punched with the Scallop Trim border punch, and a piece of Scallop Dots Ribbon in Old Olive was tied around the centre of the layers in the middle.

The inside of the card was decorated too, I really like this idea and it adds an extra level of detail and makes it a little more special.

Crafternoon Tea Class - Easy Events

A few weeks ago, my friend and downline Kylie held her first official craft event. I went along for a bit of moral support, and to do a bit of crafting and eating buns, sarnies and a cuppa or two. The event went really well, and it was a full house with about 14 people attending. We made three simple projects, she'd kept them easy so we had plenty of time to eat and chat too!

The first card I'll share from the day uses the stamp set Easy Events. I don't have this set, but I love using it. There's a stamp with a sentiment for every occasion, Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas, Baby, Thank You, and lots more that could be used for any occasion. They're great images too, everyone likes a bit of colouring in now and again don't they?

The card stock was Melon Mambo, with a layer of Whisper White that had been embossed using the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I used the Hello image of a cuckoo clock on my card. A bow was tied around the image layer, using the Melon Mambo Scallop Dots Ribbon. For a bit of bling, a Rhinestone Jewel was placed on the top of the cuckoo clock image.

Stamp-a-stack 3 - Bright Blossoms

Evening,

Sorry for the lack of posts recently.  I've been having trouble with my broadband connection, it's been a bit hit and miss, so I unplugged it for a few days, and then plugged it back in this evening, and now it seems to be working.  Maybe it just needed a rest, and was tired from all the card surfing I do!  As a result, I'm behind again with my blog posts, so I promise I'll try my best this week to get up to speed, and set up a few scheduled posts.

This evening, I'm sharing another card from the last Stamp-a-stack class.  This one was one of my favourites, I loved the layout and the design of the card.  I'll be using this layout again, it could be used with any colour combo or stamp set.

This uses the Bright Blossoms stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalogue, and the colour combo of Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry, with a touch of Old Olive.  The vase and petals were stamped onto Whisper White card stock, then punched out with the Large Oval punch, and then the flower head stamped and cut out, with a dimensional used to give it a bit of depth.  The Decorative Label punch was used for a border.  The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes, which was punched out using the 1-1/4" Circle punch, with the Scallop Circle punch used for the border.  The dotty paper is from the Brights Paper Stack.

Stamp-a-stack cards - Retired products

Hello,

I was going to stretch this post out into three posts, but changed my mind, as I have so many things to post at the moment, so I'll do three cards in this one.  The last Stamp-a-stack class I attended was just before the end of the Spring Mini Catalogue, so three of the cards featured products that were due to retire shortly.  They are no longer available, but luckily we've now got the Summer Mini Catalogue to get excited about.

The first card features the papers Berry Blossoms.  These were nice bold papers, and I like the layout and design of this card.  Various strips of paper were cut into strips, and cut into the flag shapes.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute, and the ribbon is the Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon. Flowers were stamped onto the Wisteria Wonder card stock from the Fruit & Flowers stamp set, also from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

I'll be using this layout again, it could be done with any of Stampin' Up!'s Designer Paper Series.

Papers / Card Stock - Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Berry Blossoms
Stamp Sets - Curly Cute
Embellishments - Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
Tools - Paper Cutter
Inks / Markers - Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder

The second card uses papers from Spice Cake, with the colour combo of Crumb Cake, More Mustard and Pool Party.  The Postage Stamp punch was used to cut out the squares of papers, and the new Simpy Scored tool was used to made the Flower which is made from two pieces cut with the Large Scallop Circle Punch. The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes, one of the hostess sets.

Stamp Set - Happiest Birthday Wishes (Hostess set)
Embellishments - Scallop Dots Ribbon, Antique Brad
Tools - Simply Scored, Large Scallop Circle Punch
Inks / Markers - Early Espresso

The third card features the stamp set Borderlines.  I must admit to having this set, and not using it very much! I must use it to make a few cards to sell, to get value from it.  Soft Suede and Pool Party inks were used, and the Owl punch was made to use the owl, with Spice Cake papers being used for his chest.  The sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes.  Linen thread was tied around the end of the card for an extra feature.

Stamp Sets - Borderlines, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Embellishments - Linen Thread

Little Princess Stamp-a-stack card

I attended a Stamp-a-stack class a few weeks ago, and only getting round to posting these now.  I've got another one in a weeks time, I'll have only just finished posting the last lot and I'll have six more to write up!

This card uses the Little Princess stamp set, and the colours are Peach Parfait, and Pretty in Pink.  The princess was stamped with Basic Gray onto Whisper White card stock, and her hair was coloured with a So Saffron marker.  The Decorative Label punch was used to cut her out, and then used to make an extended border around her in the Peach Parfait card stock.  The new Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders were used to make the hearts embossed panel at the bottom of the card.  These are thin embossing folders, which can be positioned anywhere on the card.  The Large Oval Punch was used to punch out the Princess sentiment, and then mounted onto the Scallop Oval Punch for a border.  The Itty Bitty Shapes Flower Punch was used to punch out the flowers on the sentiment.  I like this card and stamp set, perfect for all the little princesses in your life!
