Greenhouse Garden

Today I'm sharing another card that I made at the recent card class in Bradford.  My former upline, Gemma, was selling some of her Stampin' Up! stock, as she's no longer a demonstrator, and doesn't find much time to craft.  So I jumped at the chance to buy her goodies, and Greenhouse Garden was one of the sets I'd had my eye on and she was selling.  It's a Two Step Stampin' set, which means there are stamps in the set that are meant to be layered, or each stamp should be used in conjunction with the other stamps in the set.  The Stamp-a-ma-jig is definitely needed for these sets, and for anyone that's not used one before, it's a tool to help line up stamps so they are perfectly straight, or for set like Greenhouse Garden that layer on top of each other.

For this card, I used Crumb Cake and Pool Party card stock, with papers from the First Edition Speciality papers, cut using the Top Note Die.  I'd seen a few cards on line where images had been stamped onto this set, and was keen to try it myself.  The flowers were stamped with Pool Party, and Island Indigo for the centre of the flowers.  The stalks were stamped in Lucky Limeade.  I used the Colour Spritzer Tool to make the splatters of ink effect, a tool which I don't use enough.  I had one of these as a child, and was pleased to try it out again. The sentiment is from Curly Cute.  The card I brought along to the class to use as the example had the sentiment stamped onto the First Edition papers, but when I was demonstrating the card to the class, I decided to alter it so the Top Note layer was slightly to the right, and stamped the sentiment onto the Pool Party.

As with most of my cards, I'm looking forward to trying this card again, in different colours and layouts.  Does anyone who has this stamp set have good colour combinations for the flowers I should try?

Pop Up Cupcakes

Here's another card CASEd from Julie Kettlewell, another which I loved immediately. It mainly uses the colour combo of Pool Party and Pink Pirouette, with lots of other colours from the Subtles and 2011-2013 In Colours. All together there are nine cupcakes on the card, which were just stamped in random colours from the selection I had on the table.

This is the first pop up card I have made, and I didn't quite get my measurements right! When I initially closed the card over, the bottom pop up panel stuck out the side! I must have cut it too far across from the middle, at least I know for next time how to improve it.

Although I enjoyed making the card, it did take quite some time, as I wasn't sure of all the measurements for the different bits and pieces. It won't take as long next time as I'll know what I'm doing.

Cupcakes card

Here's another card from my crafty weekend at Kylie's. It's been CASEd from Julie Kettlewell, I saw this card at the last Stamp-a-stack class I attended and thought it was amazing.

The colour combination is Pink Pirouette and Pool Party, with a touch of Crumb Cake and Rose Red. To make the awning, I used the Word Window Punch. The stamp set is the Create A Cupcake set, and the Cupcake builder punch was used to cut out the pieces. I used the Square Lattice embossing folder to add some detail to the bottom of the card, and added a Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon bow and a sentiment punched with the Large Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch.

It was a really fun card to make, and I love the colours.  I said it before, don't wait to get this set if you're lusting after it, it's not around for much longer.

Easter Baskets

Today I'm sharing with you another project that I was set whilst having my crafty weekend at Kylie's. I made three Easter baskets, using card stock in Pool Party, So Saffron and Pretty in Pink. They were stamped using the same colour inks, with the stamp set Charming. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch to make the handles. To make the filling inside, we used a shredder which made the perfect sized strips which were scrunched up and put in the baskets. The flowers on the front were punched with the 5-Petal punch and the Boho Blossoms punch. To finish the flowers off, I placed a Rhinestone Pearl in the centre. I managed to resist eating the chocolate eggs as I was filling the baskets!

Good Chemistry

This is a card that my sister asked me to make for her friend, they are both chemistry PhD students, so she asked for something related to chemistry.  I had recently found a template on Pinterest that I thought would be perfect.  I used the Sale-a-bration papers Everyday Enchantment for the liquid in the flask, and used the sponge daubers with crumb cake ink around the edge of the flask and the card.  The Curly Cute Stamp Set was used for the Happy Birthday sentiment.  I hope they were both pleased with the card.

I added numbers to the neck of the flask, using Pool Party cardstock.

For the inside of the card, I decorated Very Vanilla cardstock with stamps from Party This Way in Crumb cake ink.

On the back of the card, I added a stamp from the Creatively Yours set.

Final Stamp-a-stack card

Phew! I've got to the end of the six cards that I made at the Stamp-a-stack card class. This one uses the Sale-a-bration papers Everyday Enchantment, with the colour combo of Poppy Parade and Pool Party. The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border was used for the border around the sentiment, and the flower cut from the Blossoms Party die from the Berry Blossoms product suite in the Spring Mini Catalogue. It was finished off with a Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, and a Red Rhinestone Brad. The sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

Aviary card

Last night I attended another one of Julie Kettlewell's stamp-a-stack card classes, we made twelve cards in three hours, two each of six designs. I'll be posting these over the next week or so.
The first I'd like to share uses the Aviary stamp set, one that I own, and can't wait to try this design again. The colour combo on this card was Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade with Crumb Cake. The Scallop Edge Border Punch was used, and the large Scallop Punch was used for around the owl and cage. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs, which is a nice set, it comes with sentiments for the outside and inside of your cards. To finish off the card, Old Olive Taffeta ribbon was used to make a bow for the top of the cage, and for the top left corner with a Rich Razzleberry button.
