Swirly Birds Kite Card

Good evening,

I hope you're all keeping well. I can't remember the last time I wrote a blog post without apologising for not posting very often! Hopefully I should be posting more regularly now that I have moved house. There's still loads to do but I do manage to fit in some crafting so that's nice. I have also started classes again, at Ossett Arts, in Ossett Town Hall, Wakefield, West Yorkshire. They are monthly at the moment, usually on the first Wednesday of the month, at 19:00.

I try to use one main stamp set or product at each of my classes and the first class I ran in August was based around the Swirly Birds stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies. I love this set more than I thought I would when I saw it in the catalogue initially. Pinterest is full of ideas and there's so many different ways the use the set.

The first card I'm sharing with you is a kite card made with the Swirly Birds stamps.  The colour combo for this card is Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party.

I used the Tree Builder Punch to punch out a cloud shape, and used this as a mask with the Stampin' Spritzer and Pool Party ink refill to create the sky background. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners and comes with a co-ordinating punch called Duet Banner.

I love the paint splatter stamp that is included in this set. It was stamped once, and then again in a slightly different position without putting it back on the ink pad so there was a lighter image.

You can just see the Wink of Stella glitter on the kite and bows.

I cased this card from Pinterest from a lady called Marisa Gun http://dzinesbymeg.typepad.com/dzines_by_meg/2016/06/osat-blog-hop-summer-lovin.html

I hope you like it, the ladies at my class certainly did.

I'll be posting another two cards that we made at the class over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled x

Swirly Birds Wreath Card

Morning,

Here's the second card that my ladies made at my monthly card class in July. The Swirly Birds stamp set has been used again, but on this card it also requires the Swirly Scribble Thinlits dies.

The wreath/nest was die cut using the Big Shot with Crumb Cake card stock. The flowers and leaves were stamped in Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy and were die cut with the matching Thinlits dies. The bird was stamped in Soft Sky but was "fussy-cut" using the Paper Snips. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners and punched out with the Duet Banner Punch.

A closer view of the bird, flowers and that lovely paint splatter stamp.

This picture really shows off the Wink of Stella glitter marker.

Apologies to the original designer of this card, I found it on Pinterest and now can't find it.

Check back soon to see the third card in this set.

Spring has sprung!

The Spring/Summer Catalogue is here! It seems like no time at all since I was posting the launch of the Autumn/Winter catalogue.  The sun is shining today, such a difference since last week when the ground was covered with snow! I was meant to attend our quarterly team training event, with about 45 other demonstrators, and it was called off at the last minute! We were all so disappointed, but it was the best decision, as many people would have struggled to get there.  It's been rescheduled, so at least we won't miss out, and everyone should have finished their swaps early!

I also had a card class this week.  The venue where I have held the classes for almost a year, Dock Street Market closed down on the same morning my class was due to be there! After a bit of scrambling around and much assistance from friends and contacts through Twitter, I managed to find another venue to host at the last minute! I held the class at The Adelphi pub, in the upstairs function room.  There was plenty of space for us, and although the lighting was a little dim for crafting, everyone managed to finish their projects and had a good time.

So, that's my crafting adventures from this week.  I hope you enjoy looking through the new seasonal catalogue, and if you've not your hands on a real copy, please let me know and I will post you one out.  It really does make a difference looking at it in your hands, I always spot so many things I hadn't seen while flicking through it online.

Don't forget that Sale-a-bration is on, so you've got all these new products to choose from, and for every £45 order, you can earn free stamp sets, papers and much more.  Click here to view my post about Sale-a-bration to learn a bit more.

Photos from my first card class

This is a very quick post, as it's way past my bed time.  I held my first real card class last Tuesday, at Dock Street Market, Leeds, and the evening was a great success.  There were eight people who came along, some were experienced crafters, and others were complete beginners.  They all seemed to enjoy themselves, and I loved it too! Can't wait for the next one now, just got to choose what projects I'll be doing.

Here's a few pictures from the class, and to see the rest, click here (Thanks to Phil for taking these pictures - great shots!)  I'll be sharing the cards that we made in due course.

The tea pot cocktails - maybe that's why they seemed to be enjoying themselves!

If you'd like to come along to future classes, keep an eye on the classes page on this blog. This class will be held on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Regular updates will be posted giving details of what's coming up.
