Christmas bunting card

Morning,

It's a bit chilly isn't it this week? Definitely the right sort of weather for getting in the right mood for making Christmas cards, snow and dropping temperatures! I hope you all made the most of your extra hour of sleep today, or will you spend the day, like I will, checking every clock twice and not quite trusting any of them!

Today I'm sharing the last of the Christmas cards I made a few weeks ago. This one uses retired papers, Jolly Holidays, the same papers I used on a card I shared a few days ago. This design is based on a card I made at a class last year, with the bunting flags across the card. I used Cherry Cobbler card, with an embossed Whisper White layer. I made four cards of three designs, using the embossing folders Swiss Dots, Vintage Wallpaper and Square Lattice. I stamped onto the papers with Basic Black ink using the Pennant Parade stamp set, and used the Petite Pennants punch to cut out the flags. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, which has changed names from the old catalogue, and is now known as Teeny Tiny Sentiments. The sentiment was punched out with the Word Window punch and mounted onto a punched out piece of Cherry Cobbler using the Modern Label punch.

Regional Training - Name Badge

Another one of the requirements to attend the Regional Training in Leeds on Saturday was to make our own name badges to bring with us.  I had too many ideas for this, and after much deliberation, this is the design I came up with.  I used the Labels Collection Framelit Dies, and cut out the largest in Pool Party and the next size down in Whisper White, which was also embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the Pennant Parade stamp set and the Petite Pennants builder punch with the new In Colours to make the bunting flags.  The Just Perfect Alphabet was used to stamp the letters in Basic Gray, and cut with the 3/4" Circle punch.  Finally, the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die was used to cut the butterflies in Pool Party.

Card Class - Bunting

A few weeks ago, I held a bunting themed card class at Dock Street Market, Leeds.  We made four cards, all with a bunting and flags theme.  It was a fun class, and with the Queens Diamond Jubilee coming up, I thought it would be a good theme for all those summer cards.

Here's one of the cards we made that evening.  I'd seen a similar card on Pinterest, and liked it so much.  (As I'm writing this post, I've noticed that the card in the photo doesn't have the clouds that were made from the Cupcake punch, I'll take a photo of the finished card and add it later - oops.)  I like how the Bashful Blue and the Certainly Celery card looks like sky and grass.  The papers used for the bunting flags are from the Nursery Nest, which I got free last month for placing a £45 order.  The Pennant Parade stamp was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto the papers and then punched with the Petite Pennants Builder punch.  Bows were tied with Linen Thread, and attached the the edges with the mini glue dots.  The sentiment was stamped with Rose Red ink, from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

Papers / Card Stock - Crumb cake, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Nursery Nest
Stamp Sets - Pennant Parade, Sincere Salutations
Embellishments - Linen Thread
Tools - Petite Pennants Builder Punch, Cupcake Builder Punch, Eyelet Border Punch
Inks / Markers - Basic Gray, Rose Red

Cupcakes Set

These are a few cards that I made when I first got the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the Cupcake Builder Punch.  I used the colour combos of Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla cards stock, based on the Beau Chateau papers.

The first card used the Square Lattice embossing folder to emboss Soft Suede card stock. The Scallop Edge Border Punch was used on the Marina Mist card stock to create a border on the Very Vanilla card stock strip.

The second card has Marina Mist card stock embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, with the Beau Chateau paper.

The third card has Soft Suede embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, and a piece of Pink Pirouette with the edge punched with the Scallop edge Border Punch to make it look like a cake stand.  The three cupcake tops have Dazzling Diamonds glitter to give them a bit of sparkle.

The fourth card has Pink Pirouette card stock embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, and I've used the Petite Pennants punch to cut out a cone stamped with the Pennant Parade stamp set.  The cupcake tops have been placed to look like ice creams. The Modern Label punch was used to cut out the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Don't forget, these products are only available until the end of April, as they are from the Spring Mini Catalogue.  These have been popular products, but there's no guarantee that they will be rolled over into the 2012-13 Catalogue, so don't wait too long if you've had your eye on it!

Love cards

These are cards that I started when I first signed up to be a demonstrator, and I found them recently half finished.  I think I had been waiting for the ribbon to be delivered and put them away to finish later.  I've finished them now, and here they are.

I used the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set, with Pretty in Pink and Marina Mist papers from the Subtles paper stack.  The sentiment is from the Pennant Parade stamp set, and has been cut out with the Modern Label Punch, with ink applied around the edges with the sponge daubers.

Paper / Card Stock - Subtles Paper Stack, Whisper White
Stamp Sets - I {Heart} Hearts, Pennant Parade
Embellishments - 1/4" (6.4mm) Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8" (1.6cm) Satin Ribbon
Tools - Modern Label Punch, Sponge Daubers
Inks / Markers - Pretty In Pink, Marina Mist

Hello Baby!

Inspired by a card that I made at one of the Stamp-a-stack sessions (which can be found on an earlier post here), I recently needed to make a lot of baby cards in bulk.  There are babies appearing everywhere at the moment, and I can barely keep up with the rate that I need to make and send cards! So I decided I needed a design that I could make quickly, and I thought of the bunting card.  I made 6 cards of each colour, so I'm fully prepared for any more babies that are on their way!

I used Crumb Cake cardstock, with Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze / Pretty in Pink ink and papers from the Subtles Paper Stack.  The 3/4" punch fits nicely around the Just Perfect Alphabet stamps.  The "baby" sentiment is from the Pennant Parade stamp set.  Inside, I stamped the words "One little baby...many happy hearts!" from the Curvy Verses set, which was one of the first Stampin' Up! sets I purchased.  The Square Lattice embossing folder was used with the Big Shot to emboss a section of the card, it just adds an extra bit of detail that makes it look that bit more special.

The sentiment on the inside of the card - from Curvy Verses.

Half of the cards lined up, ready to be added to my box of cards.

I hope that everyone that received one of these cards recently liked them.

Here's the second All Day Training Cupcake card for you to see.

This one shows how you can use the Cupcake builder punch without the use of the stamp set, to make ice cream cones, yum! The cones are stamped using Soft Suede Ink with the Pennant Parade Stamp Set.

Owl Punch & Petite Pennants Punch Magnets

How cute it this!?  I was browsing in my local craft shop recently, and spotted some magnetic photo paper.  I decided to buy some to have a play with.  I knew it could be die cut with the Big Shot, and I was really pleased when I found it was just thin enough to be punched.  I looked at all the punches I have, and of course the Owl Punch just jumped out at me! I punched the magnetic sheet, and then punched the owl shapes in card/paper and then stuck them together.

Once I had tried it with the Owl Punch, I wanted to make more! I thought the Petite Pennants Builder Punch would be good too, and I think it turned out well.  I used the Just Perfect Alphabet Stamp Set to do the letters and the Pennant Parade Stamp Set for the flags.

I'm looking forward to trying this with more dies and punches, I think it would look great with some of the flower dies, Fun Flowers, or the Blossom Party from the new Spring Mini Catalogue.

Stamp a Stack - New Catalogue

I'm not keeping up with these blogs posts very well at the moment am I?! After a busy month or two with the Light Night Craft Garden, and the two weddings, I've given myself a well deserved rest.

As a good way of getting my crafting mojo back, on Monday I attended Julie Kettlewell's Stamp a Stack card making class.  We made 12 cards, 6 designs, in three hours.

Here are the cards we made - aren't they nice!

The first card is made using the Polar Party stamp set, with Lucky Limeade and Real Red cardstock.  The borders were made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, and finished with a bow made from the 3/8" (1cm) Ruffled Ribbon in Lucky Limeade.
