Stamp a stack - Cupcakes Card

Here's the final card from the Stamp-a-stack session.  It uses two of my favourite items at the moment, the Cupcake punch and the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set.  These are only available until the end of April, I'll miss them a lot.  For this card, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose card stock were used.  I learnt  a new technique with this card, called Inlaid Embossing.  Various sizes of circles were punched and then glued to the Whisper White card stock, then the whole thing was run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  The Large Scallop Circle Punch, another product that will not be available after the end of the month, was used to mount the cupcake.  To finish it off, the Satin Ribbon was attached, and the Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped and punched with the Large Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch.  I'll be making this card again soon!

Pop Up Cupcakes

Here's another card CASEd from Julie Kettlewell, another which I loved immediately. It mainly uses the colour combo of Pool Party and Pink Pirouette, with lots of other colours from the Subtles and 2011-2013 In Colours. All together there are nine cupcakes on the card, which were just stamped in random colours from the selection I had on the table.

This is the first pop up card I have made, and I didn't quite get my measurements right! When I initially closed the card over, the bottom pop up panel stuck out the side! I must have cut it too far across from the middle, at least I know for next time how to improve it.

Although I enjoyed making the card, it did take quite some time, as I wasn't sure of all the measurements for the different bits and pieces. It won't take as long next time as I'll know what I'm doing.

Cupcakes card

Here's another card from my crafty weekend at Kylie's. It's been CASEd from Julie Kettlewell, I saw this card at the last Stamp-a-stack class I attended and thought it was amazing.

The colour combination is Pink Pirouette and Pool Party, with a touch of Crumb Cake and Rose Red. To make the awning, I used the Word Window Punch. The stamp set is the Create A Cupcake set, and the Cupcake builder punch was used to cut out the pieces. I used the Square Lattice embossing folder to add some detail to the bottom of the card, and added a Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon bow and a sentiment punched with the Large Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch.

It was a really fun card to make, and I love the colours.  I said it before, don't wait to get this set if you're lusting after it, it's not around for much longer.

Cupcakes Set

These are a few cards that I made when I first got the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the Cupcake Builder Punch.  I used the colour combos of Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla cards stock, based on the Beau Chateau papers.

The first card used the Square Lattice embossing folder to emboss Soft Suede card stock. The Scallop Edge Border Punch was used on the Marina Mist card stock to create a border on the Very Vanilla card stock strip.

The second card has Marina Mist card stock embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, with the Beau Chateau paper.

The third card has Soft Suede embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, and a piece of Pink Pirouette with the edge punched with the Scallop edge Border Punch to make it look like a cake stand.  The three cupcake tops have Dazzling Diamonds glitter to give them a bit of sparkle.

The fourth card has Pink Pirouette card stock embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, and I've used the Petite Pennants punch to cut out a cone stamped with the Pennant Parade stamp set.  The cupcake tops have been placed to look like ice creams. The Modern Label punch was used to cut out the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Don't forget, these products are only available until the end of April, as they are from the Spring Mini Catalogue.  These have been popular products, but there's no guarantee that they will be rolled over into the 2012-13 Catalogue, so don't wait too long if you've had your eye on it!

Last card from the training day

Here's the last card I have to share with you from the All Day Training.  It uses the Create a Cupcake stamp set and punch to make a little carton, for popcorn made using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch.  One thing I didn't mention earlier, is that when we were making these cards at the training day, the six of us on the table worked together and each took a bit of the card so we got them done quickly.  For this one, myself & Kate punched and inked the edges of 20 popcorn each, for 6! I think I dreamt of popcorn that night.

Paper / Card - Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamp Sets - Create a Cupcake, Sincere Salutations,
Embellishments -
Tools - Large Oval Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch, Cupcake punch, 1-3/8" (3.5cm) Square punch
Inks / Markers - So Saffron, Basic Black, Real Red

This is the Baggie Book that we created with all five cards.  It's a great way to show lots of cards using the same stamp set, and can easily be passed round at a class or a workshop and the cello bags keep the cards clean and protected.  I'd like to make these for all my stamp sets, one day I'll get round to it!

Yet another cupcake card

Here's the fourth card created with the Create a Cupcake set.  I love the bold design and colours of this card, and again, cleverly uses the Cupcake builder punch for another purpose - handbags!  The glimmer paper from the Spring Mini Catalogue has been used for that extra bling effect.

Card / Papers - Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Glimmer Paper
Stamp Set - Create a Cupcake

1/2" (1.3cm) Circle Punch, 3/4" (1.9cm) Circle Punch, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

Here's another card to share with you that uses the Cupcake set.  Are you starting to want these products yet??

This time, I've used the Cupcake builder punch to create clouds.  See, I told you it was versatile!  The basket of the hot air balloon was made using the punch too, and then embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder to create a basket effect.

More Cupcakes

Morning,

This will be my first scheduled post, so let's see if I have mastered this if it works or not.

Here's the second All Day Training Cupcake card for you to see.

This one shows how you can use the Cupcake builder punch without the use of the stamp set, to make ice cream cones, yum! The cones are stamped using Soft Suede Ink with the Pennant Parade Stamp Set.

Create A Cupcake

Evening

At the recent All Day Training, we made a five cards using the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the builder punch.  I love this set, and have made a few cards with it now.  It's so easy to use, and is so versatile.  My next few posts will show you what a range of cards it can be used for.  You can use the stamp set on its own, or just the punch, but as you'll see, having both is worthwhile.

The first card uses the colour combination of Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral.  It's such a quick and easy card, with the added bonus of using the punch to cut out the cupcake, you could make one of these in no time!

New Year's Resolution & Christmas Catch Up

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year, and that Santa brought you lots of crafty goodies.  I received a few sewing books that I've had my eye on for a while, and my friend Kylie let me choose a Stampin' Up! set of my choice - so I picked Aviary, I can't wait to get started playing with it.  With my last order, I also received the Charming and the Create a Cupcake stamp sets from the new Spring Mini Catalogue (blog post to follow) for free, as well as a set of the Brights Brads, as a reward for getting two workshops booked during the recent Worldwide Week of Workshops Bookathon.  13,887 workshops were booked across the world that day! How good is that! It's not too late to book a workshop, so if you are interested, please contact me.  Or if you are interested in becoming a demonstrator, to receive great benefits like has just been offered, let me know.

Aviary Stamp Set

I've not been very good at keeping myblog updated recently! Christmas took over, and I was so busy making all my cards and a few gifts, many at the last minute, that I forgot to take pictures of all my creations! I also didn't want to spoil any surprises by posting pictures on here before I sent cards.  I managed to sell quite a few cards at work this year, which was very exciting, two colleagues saw samples I had brought in and asked for 6 each.  Another friend wanted a 21st birthday card, and ended up buying 3 others too.  It got me motivated to try to do more this year, and have confidence that people do like and want to buy my creations.  My New Year's Resolution is most definitely to do more blog posts, and generally, do more crafting! Or at least be more organised with it! I've noticed a lot of crafty plans being made through Twitter recently, and I'm looking forward to making a few more friends through the various groups that are popping up around Leeds.

The first step to this organisation, will be getting my craft room in some sort of order! Even though I have a room where I can keep everything, I still end up bringing it all downstairs to the lounge and spreading out there in front of the TV.  After I had finished my cards, I then took it all back upstairs, and just put it on the floor, so I can barely get in and around the room now. It all needs taking out, sorting through, and putting back in so I know where everything is.  I also need a clear out, and I need to be brutal! So keep an eye out, there may be some sales and bargains available soon.

On a down note, my New Year didn't start off too well, by dropping my iPhone! So just incase any of you are trying to place orders or get hold of me or through Facebook, Twitter, email or good old phone calls, please be patient! It still works but is pretty difficult to see, as you can see from the picture below.  The "A" key on my laptop is playing up too, so please excuse any funny spellings! Why do these things all happen at once eh!
