Stamp-a-stack Christmas 5 - Owl Occasions

Morning,

Hope you're all well, I'm doing good, got a few days off work and I celebrated my birthday yesterday. I got some lovely gifts and cards, but I worry that my friends think they have to apologise for not making me a handmade card! Please don't feel obliged, I like any card, whether it be handmade or not, it's the thought that counts.

I've not blogged for a while, and I've just realised I've not finished sharing all the Stamp-a-stack Christmas cards yet. So here's the fifth card. We used Cherry Cobbler card stock for the card itself, with a Crumb Cake layer that had been embossed with the new Woodgrain embossing folder. The Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies were used to cut out the Gumball Green background and the Whisper White card, where the Owl Occasions stamp set was used to stamp the owl stood on the branch. I love this set, it's perfect for any occasion and can be used all year round. For a bit of dimension, the hat was stamped on a separate piece of card, and cut out. Finally, Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon was tied in a bow around the card.

I was made a birthday card from this stamp set by my downline and friend Kylie. When she's blogged the card, and doesn't mind me sharing it, I'll post a picture of it on here to show you another way the stamp set can be used.

Stamp-a-stack Christmas 2 - Ornament Keepsakes

This is the second card from the Christmas Stamp-a-stack. It's another card that has products that can be purchased in a bundle, saving 15% when the dies and the stamp set is bought together. The set, called Ornament Keepsakes has been popular so far, and one of the main reasons for this is that it's used to create the stunning decoration on the front of the catalogue. There's 9 stamps and 8 matching dies in this set.

For this card, the Festival Of Prints DSP Stack was used again for the background paper, with a card blank of Baja Breeze. The baubles were stamped in Baja Breeze and Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla card. Bows were tied and attached to the tops with the Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon. The sentiment is from Curly Cute, one of my most used sets!

All Day Training Swaps

A couple of weeks ago, I attended an all day training session, with 30 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  It was based around the new Summer Mini Catalogue, and it was the first time I'd seen a lot of the products from the new range.  As a demonstrator, we get access to view the catalogue before it is available to customers, and we can order products early.  It's exciting knowing customers are waiting to get their hands on the catalogue and products, when we get our "sneak peak".  In the morning, we learnt lots of tips and ideas for running classes, and in the afternoon we got hands on and crafty! I'll be sharing the cards and things we made (when I've finished them!).

One of the great things about the day is that we do swaps, we each make an item, a card, or a 3d projects to share with each other.  It gives everyone a chance to have items made from products and stamp sets we might not own ourselves yet, and it really makes a difference to customers than just looking in the catalogue.

For my swaps, I used the Tea Shoppe stamp set, and the Twitterpated designer paper series.  Using the Top Note die, I made a tea bag gift holder. You can see in the picture below how the tea bag sits inside, attached with a sticky dot. The inside was stamped with the three small tea cups in Whisper White, and the large tea cup was stamped onto Whisper White card stock using Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Island Indigo inks.  The Just For You and A Cup Of Thanks sentiments were stamped onto the four colours, with the same colour ink, and then punched out with the Modern Label punch. The Top Note die was used to cut out the Twitterpated papers, which was trimmed around the edge, to give a border with the card underneath.  Finally, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon was used to tie a small bow at the sides.  Of course, one of the cats had to get involved and help, I wonder if it was the smell of the mint tea that did it!

I hope you like these new products, I can't wait to share some more things with you.

Hello Baby!

Inspired by a card that I made at one of the Stamp-a-stack sessions (which can be found on an earlier post here), I recently needed to make a lot of baby cards in bulk.  There are babies appearing everywhere at the moment, and I can barely keep up with the rate that I need to make and send cards! So I decided I needed a design that I could make quickly, and I thought of the bunting card.  I made 6 cards of each colour, so I'm fully prepared for any more babies that are on their way!

I used Crumb Cake cardstock, with Very Vanilla and Baja Breeze / Pretty in Pink ink and papers from the Subtles Paper Stack.  The 3/4" punch fits nicely around the Just Perfect Alphabet stamps.  The "baby" sentiment is from the Pennant Parade stamp set.  Inside, I stamped the words "One little baby...many happy hearts!" from the Curvy Verses set, which was one of the first Stampin' Up! sets I purchased.  The Square Lattice embossing folder was used with the Big Shot to emboss a section of the card, it just adds an extra bit of detail that makes it look that bit more special.

Half of the cards lined up, ready to be added to my box of cards.

I hope that everyone that received one of these cards recently liked them.

I {Heart} Hearts Friend Card

Here's another card I made early on when I received my starter kit.  The colour combo is similar to my last post, but with Pretty In Pink added, to Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum.  This was another CASEd card from Splitcoaststampers.  This is a great website if you are ever stuck for ideas with what to do with your Stampin' Up! stamp sets. I tried out the tearing technique on this card, something I see done all the time, but don't often do myself.

Vintage Vogue Friend Card

Evening

I've got another card to share with you today, using one of the stamp sets I received in my starter kit last year when I signed up to be a demonstrator.  It uses the Vintage Vogue set, and I think I CASEd it from Splitcoaststampers, but can't find it now! I'm going to have to improve my inspiration searches, and stop just saving the picture but write down where I found it too.  For anyone that doesn't know, CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything, which is a great way to share ideas and try new designs, remembering to give credit to the original crafter.

It uses the colour combo of Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum.  There was a bit of cutting out to do for this one, as the set doesn't have a matching punch.  Wouldn't it be nice if they all did, but then we'd just have more we needed to buy!
