Team Training - Dapper Dad Card 3

Morning.

This is the third and final Dapper Dad card that I'll be sharing from the team training day on Saturday.  I love this one, it's so easy and incredibly effective.  The Argyle Embossing folder has been used to emboss two strips of Night of Navy card stock, and have been placed onto a Very Vanilla card blank so it looks like a cardigan.  How clever!  The bow tie stamped image was stamped with Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake card stock, and three of the smaller Silver Buttons were placed underneath in a row to look like buttons on a shirt.  The sentiment which reads "It's your birthday, Oh, What fun! Blow out your candles one by one!", has been stamped onto Crumb Cake in Early Espresso ink, and punched out using the Decorative Label punch.  Bakers Twine was tied around the label, and attached to the bottom of the card with dimensionals.

A close up of the three Silver Buttons, don't they look nice and shiny!

If you've been following my Dapper Dad posts this week, I hope you've liked all the cards, and are inspired to use it yourself.  It's £16.95 for the wood mount stamp set (129195) or just £13.95 for the clear mount stamp (129198).  These stamps are so versatile and can be used for lots of different cards.  You don't have to just limit them to masculine cards, at the training day on Saturday one of my fellow demonstrators suggested "blinging up" the watch using pearls or rhinestones for a ladies watch, I thought that was a great idea.

Team Training - Dapper Dad Card 2

This is the second card from the team training day on Saturday, using the Dapper Dad stamp set.  Similar to the first card I shared on Monday, it uses Night of Navy, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake card stock.  The shoe was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and then cut out using the Paper Snips.
The Happy Father's Day sentiment from Bring on The Cake was stamped onto a square piece of Very Vanilla in Early Espresso ink.  The Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed using the Big Shot and the Argyle Embossing Folder.  A piece of Early Espresso Bakers Twine was tied around the Crumb Cake, and finished off by tying a Silver Button through the twine.  The shoe was placed on the card with Dimensionals.

As I mentioned at the bottom of my last post, there's plenty of time to get hold of any of these items before Father's Day, contact me now to place your order.

Team Training - Dapper Dad Card 1

At Saturday's team training event, we made three cards using the Dapper Dad stamp set from the Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue.   This was a stamp set I'd not used before, and as always, as soon as I started stamping, and playing with it, I wanted it!  All the ladies go home from training events with wishlists bigger than they were that morning.

The first card I'll be sharing has the colour combo of Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock.  We all got a bit confused on our table starting these cards, and stamped the wrong colours on the wrong card, and cut pieces to the wrong size. We're too eager to get going sometimes! The watch image was stamped twice onto Very Vanilla card stock, one was cut out and the other just had the watch face stamped out with the 1" Circle Punch.  The watch face was placed onto a large silver button, to produce a very effective looking watch. I love how different items fit together.  This was mounted onto a circle punched with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  The Happy Father's Day sentiment is from Bring On The Cake stamp set.  A strip of the Natural Trim ribbon was placed across the front of the Crumb Cake card stock and a piece of Bakers Twine was tied around the end.

The picture below shows a close up of the watch, where you can see the edge of the Silver Button.  Doesn't it look effective and just like a real watch!

Father's Day is on Sunday 16th June, so if you like this card, or any of the products used, please get in touch to place your order.  There's plenty of time for you to play around with them to make the perfect card.

Buns and Roses Workshop - Ornaments card

This post is the third project from the Buns and Roses workshop, and uses the Festival of Prints papers and the Delightful Decorations stamp set and Ornament punch.  The ladies got to choose their paper and could make the card in a selection of colours, of Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo.  The tricky part of this card was remembering to attach the Bakers Twine to the back of the paper before sticking it down onto the card.  The ornaments were stamped onto Whisper White and then punched out using the Ornament Punch.  The Merry sentiment is from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set, and was punched using the Decorative Label Punch.

Christmas Card Class - Frosty Friends

Hello,

Here's another card from the card class I attended at the weekend. I think this card is my favourite from the four that we made. The stamp is called Frosty Friends, it's a stamp that comes on its own and costs just £10.95. We all had a great time using the markers to colour in the snowmen. The glue pen was used along the bottom of the snowmen, and then Dazzling Diamonds was applied to give a lovely glittery effect. The card blank is Pool Party, with Cherry Cobbler. A piece of the Bakers Twine was tied around the card, for a bit of added detail.

Shoe Box Swap - Twitterpated Crackers

This is my last blog post about the Shoe Box swap event. I really enjoyed the day, and am looking forward to the next one.

This post is to share with you the project that was designed by my downline and friend Kylie. She's always coming up with great ideas, I don't know where she finds them! If you fancy taking a look at her blog, click here. These are crackers made with the Twitterpated papers, with the label from the Tea Shoppe stamp set.

The crackers were made by cutting slits in a rectangular piece of paper, which was the rolled into a cylinder and stuck with the sticky strip. Bakers Twine was tied tightly around the ends, and a chocolate sweet, a message and the snap was placed inside. Seam binding ribbon in Cherry Cobbler and Baja Breeze was tied around the ends to hide the Bakers Twine.

I love making or receiving swaps with sweets inside, but these are safe, as don't want to ruin them. They can be my real emergency chocolate stash when I really need it!!

Shoe Box Swap event

Morning,

I'm off to a Shoe Box swap event today. What's that you ask? Well, it's like a card class, but everyone brings a box containing all the card, papers, stamps, ribbons etc, and we'll be swapping boxes around the table, and making each others cards. Sound fun, I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with.

This is my design. It took me all afternoon yesterday, I wasn't feeling very inspirational! I'd been off all week, and should have got my kit out and had a play earlier. After sitting on my craft room floor for far too long, I made it up to the desk and got going.

I used two new stamp sets a sneak peek from the Annual Catalogue, called Make A Cake, and Itty Bitty Banners. The Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must for this set, with all the stamps designed to be used together to create an image. Two step stamping it's called. I used Island Indigo, Pool Party and Rose Red ink. The Scallop Border Punch was used to create the edge on the two layers of card stock, and a piece of Pool Party bakers twine was wrapped around the centre of the card a few times and tied in a bow.

I hope everyone at the event likes my card.

Pin Wheel Card

This is a birthday card that I made for my down line and crafty friend, Kylie. I wanted to use some of the new papers I'd just got, Sweet Shop, for a bright summer look. We all need something to brighten us up at the moment, is summer ever going to arrive?

I used Pool Party and Island Indigo, with the Sweet Shop Speciality Designer Papers to make the pin wheel. I'd made pin wheels at the Jubilee craft event I held at Dock Street, and thought a smaller version would look cute on a card. They're really easy to make. I used a mini brad to hold together the middle, and a cocktail stick for the stem. I tied a piece of the Bakers Twine into a bow around the stick for an extra bit of detail. The Pool Party card stock was embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder, and the sentiment stamp is a sneak peak from the new 2012-2013 Catalogue, called Itty Bitty Banners. I received this set for free, during Sale-a-bration, for recruiting a downline, my friend Kylie.  Stampin' Up! offer such great benefits to demonstrators, it's a great opportunity to get free products for doing something I love.

June Card Class - Baby Card

Morning,

Once again I have to apologies for my lack of posting.  My broadband is still a bit hit and miss, and after two long calls to call centres (where I couldn't understand a word of what was being said to me!), it somehow fixed itself.  I don't hold out much hope for it to be fixed permanently, keep fingers crossed please.

Here's one of the cards that I made with my class on Tuesday.  All the cards I made were using sets from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  This one uses the Baby Prints stamp set, with Marina Mist and Blushing Bride inks / card.  The Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder was used to emboss the Whisper White card, using the Big Shot, and the sentiment was punched using the Square Punch and the Scallop Square Punch for the border.  Finally, white Bakers Twine was tied around the card to add an extra element of detail.
